1. How do I book an apartment?
There are 3 simple steps to book an apartment in Madrid with Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes for Travellers:
1- Choose an apartment, request availability and check prices
Choose the Apartment that suits your needs, check its availability online, select arrival date and departure date, the number of people travelling and our system will quote you a price and take you to the book online form by clicking on the buttom BOOK NOW and fill the reservation form out.
2 - Booking Confirmation
• You will need to complete a book on line form with your personal information: Full name and passport number, Your full address and telephone number, and click on the buttom Proceed to Payment, where you will be asked for your credit card details. You can choose between our Online Secure SSL system provided by a bank (SERVIRED) and PayPal.
• Once we receive the confirmation or your payment from our system, we will confirm your booking as soon as possible with a maximum of 24 hours.
• Remember that there is a 3 night minimum stay in all of our apartments in Madrid and 2 night minimum stay in our Salamanca apartments .
3 - Payment
• To confirm the booking, we need to collect the 15-35% reservation deposit. If you choose to do the deposit payment via credit card rest assured the information goes through via secure server provided for SERVIRED. You can call us to give us your credit card details and we can take payment over the phone. Also, you can pay the Booking Deposit by Bank Transfer.
• The advance payment is necessary to complete your reservation. The remaining part of the payment 65-85% must be paid in CASH upon arrival. Remember NO CASH NO CHECKING. There are some apartments than can take full payment by credit card by adding an extra charge of 4% of the total. All our prices include 7% VAT and are expressed in €. For companies, VAT will be adjusted to 16%.
• Once we received the confirmation of the payment, we will send you a booking confirmation together with some arrival and departure information and the name and telephone number of the person in charge of the check in.
• Please note that the 15-35% reservation deposit is non-refundable. For fully paid reservations please see our cancellation policy in the Terms and Conditions section.

2. How do I pay for the booking?
You will be require to pay 15-35% of your reservation to confirm your booking, the Balance must be paid in cash on arrival. There are some apartments than can take full payment by credit card by adding an extra charge of 4% of the total. You can pay the 15-35% booking deposit by credit card in our website, or by calling us on the telephone at + 34 629196883.

By PayPal (using your Credit Card)
1. Click on the PayPal button below and you will be taken to the PayPal payment page (You browser must have cookies enabled to make the payment successfully).
2. Follow the PayPal indications. Fill out your credit card details and your billing address.
3. After PayPal confirms your payment, you have the option to save your data and create an account with PayPal.
4. PayPal will send us an automatic email notifying your payment.
By Credit Card Using our Bank Secure Payment Gateway (SERVIRED)
1. Please, follow the instructions of the the system to make the payment of the booking fee
2. The system will confirm you by email that we have received the booking fee and so, that the booking is firm.
By Telephone
Please phone us and one of the Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes for Travellers Staff member will be happy to take your Credit Card details over the phone. 3. Will I need to pay a Security deposit for the apartment?
Yes, there is a cash damage deposit which will need to be paid upon arrival at the apartment in Madrid. The amount varies per apartment ranging from 200 euros; to 700 euros see that information on the detail page of the apartment you are choosing. In same apartments, guests can give expressed authorisation to the property to charge their credit cards the corresponding costs for any damage caused to the apartment or its furnishings during their stay.
4. How do I cancel my reservation?
If the client cancels a fully paid reservation, there is a cancellation charge that will depend on the number of days before the beginning of the rental period. Please note that the 15-35% reservation deposit is non-refundable:
• More than 90 days before: 20% of the total amount.
• 60-89 days before: 30% of the total amount.
• 30-59 days before: 50% of the total amount.
• Less than 30 days before: 100% of the total amount.
5. When is check in or check out ?
Check in time is from 15pm (15h00). If you wish to check in before 15:00, please let us know, and we will try to accommodate you. In the event of late arrival, you will be charged a supplementary fee depending on the time: 30 € after 8pm to 12pm (20h00 to 24h00) and 50 € after 12pm to 02pm (23h00 to 02h00). Please note that for arrivals on Sundays and Bank Holidays there is an extra-charge of 30 euros. Your booking confirmation will detail all charges applicable to the apartment you have booked.
6. How will I get the keys to the apartment?
You will be meet at the apartment in Madrid upon your arrival by a member of Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers staff who hand over the keys and also show you around the apartment. Please read the following steps in order to familiarize yourself with the arrival and departure process, like receiving the keys of the apartment or getting refunded your damage deposit upon departure from the apartment in Madrid.
1. Together with the confirmation of your reservation, Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers will send you an email containing all the information you need for your arrival: Location and address of apartment and the Telephone number and email of Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers person in charge of the check in
2. You will be asked to reply by email as soon as possible with the time of your arrival in Madrid so that the Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers person or owner of the apartment will be there at the apartment to meet you with the keys, etc. If the apartment that you have booked allows full payment by credit card, please, also let us know it in advance by email.
3. When you arrive in Madrid we would ask you to call Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers contact from the airport or ,at least one hour before to your arrival at the apartment. Then, the Apartments- Madrid.com - HomesforTravellers staff will go to the apartment to welcome you. Please note; for arrival to the apartment between 20.00 and 24.00 hours there is a late check-in fee of 30€ and for arrivals from 24.00 to 02.00 am there is a very late check in fee of 50€. The latest check-in time is 2am.
4. When you arrive at the apartment the Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers staff member or the owner of the apartment will provide you with the following: keys for entry to the apartment, walk through the apartment, Instruct you how to use equipment in the apartment like Air Conditioning, Washing Machine, Cooker etc., explain any items like rubbish removal specific to that neighbourhood, local grocery store location, directions to metro station or other information regarding the area in general, collect the balance and the damage deposit in cash or by Credit Card as agreed previously, sign the short term rental contract. Exact amount will be stated in your arrival and departure information the will be sent to you upon confirmation of your reservation.
5. During your stay at the apartment in Madrid we ask you to contact Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers IMMEDIATELY if you find anything missing or in bad condition or if you accidentally break anything so that we can fix or settle whatever it is. We want you to enjoy your stay and not be inconvenienced by something which can be fixed or replaced.
6. Contact us during business hours for anything like restaurant recommendations, directions from where you are if lost or just general questions regarding either the apartment or Madrid.
7. Departure should be before 11 am if you require a later departure let us know in advance and we will try to accommodate you providing our next arrival is not early the same day. A member of our staff will be at the apartment at the concerted hour to: collect the apartment keys, Return the refundable deposit minus any damages which may have occurred
8. If you wish it, we can book a taxi for your departure, but we need to know it in advance.
8. What happens if I break something?
Please call Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes for Travellers as soon as possible to assess the damage. We will do our best to try and fix or replace the item/s and reach a decision if whether there is any charge incurred.
9. What if I need help or information during my stay?
There will be a member of Apartments- Madrid.com - Homes For Travellers staff available to answer any of your questions during business hours. Outside business hours you can also contact us in a case of emergency.
10. Do Children under 2 need to pay the rental?
Child under 2 do not pay for the rental. If the child requires the use of a bed during their stay, you must take it into account when making a reservation request.
11. Will I need an adaptor for using the appliances in the apartment?
For all appliances supplied in the apartments you will not need continental European adaptors. Hairdryers are supplied but to operate other bathroom appliances which you might bring on your travels like electric shavers, curling irons etc., you will need a continental European adaptor.
12. Is the neibourghoud safe?
Madrid is one of the safest cities in Europe. As in all large cities, one must exercise certain caution, especially in the parts of the city frequented by tourists. The city centre and the tourist areas are patrolled by the local police. Most reported crimes relate to petty theft, purse snatchings and pick-pocketing. You must take common-sense precautions in this regard. Do not carry your shiny, new camera dangling from your neck in plain view. Be aware of your surroundings. Do not flaunt purses, cash, or jewellery. The best means of defence against such incidents is to take the necessary precautions and use one's common sense.
13. How do I get to Madrid centre from Barajas Airport?
There are 3 options by public transport: train, bus or taxi.
Train: You need to change trains twice, the journey takes 35 minutes. From the airport to Puerta del Sol: So, 3 trains, 2 changes. Cost is approx 1 euro. You must use line 3, then to line 8, then to line 10. The airport has its own metro station where you can pick up a map of the metro system. The Ten ways ticket can be used for 10 journeys and costs 6.60 euros. The Metro leaves you in the underground station with your entire luggage to cart up the stairs to street level, where you then need to make your way to your accommodation. This is the cheapest method, but also the most hassle and time.
Bus: The bus fare is approximately 2 euros and the journey takes around 45 minutes. Buses depart from the airport to the Avenida de America bus station approximately every 30 minutes starting at 5.36 till 23.30. For the return journey from the Avenida de America bus station to the airport, buses leaving every 30 minutes from 5.20 till 23.30.
Taxi: From Madrid Barajas Airport to Madrid city centre (Puerta del Sol) in taxi will cost you approximately 30 euros, and the journey takes around 30 minutes. At peak congestion time it may take you up to an hour. With up to 3 people in the Taxi, this works out to 10 euros per person. Taxis are all lined up just outside the airport to take people to the city centre
